Naast fluorwaterstofzuur heeft kwartsglas geen chemische reactie met andere zuren. De zuurbestendigheid is 30 keer die van keramiek en 150 keer die van roestvrij staal, vooral de chemische stabiliteit bij lage temperatuur.
